Westchester County Executive George Latimer presented fifteen-year-old Ian Khemlani with a certificate of recognition. The rising Rye High School sophomore is the youngest to complete Latimer’s Fellowship Program, designed for high school and college students interested in pursuing a career in government.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer said: “Despite his young age, I saw Ian had a lot of promise and hopefully our program provided a pathway to the bright future he certainly has ahead of him.”

Khemlani worked remotely for roughly three months in 2020 assisting with researching police reform nationwide and diving into how local government operated during the height of the pandemic.

Ian Khemlani said: “I saw Mr. Latimer on “60 Minutes” and he seemed really nice, I wanted to make an impact, too. So, I decided to write a letter and he made it possible for me to have a role, so I’m really thankful for that.”
