Public Comment period is open now through April 30, 2021.

The Westchester County Department of Public Works and Transportation is inviting the public to view an online presentation about the Main Street Bridge rehabilitation project in White Plains. From now until April 30, the public will have the opportunity to comment and ask questions about the bridge, which spans the Bronx River Parkway and the Bronx River in White Plains.

The nearly $8 million dollar project includes rehabilitating the bridge to mitigate any current or future damage from water infiltration, raising existing stone walls to comply with ADA standards, replacing existing guiderail and adding it where required, and preserving the historic integrity of the bridge. The County has selected the consultant firm, HVEA Engineers of Beacon, New York to complete the design of the project.

Once comments from the public have been received and addressed, the draft design report will be resubmitted to the New York State Department of Transportation for final design approval.

Bids for the project will be advertised by December 2021. After a contract has been awarded, there is an anticipated construction starting date of Spring 2022.
