Westchester County Office For People With Disabilities Provides free transportation for people to receive COVID-19 vaccine.

Westchester County Executive George Latimer is offering free transportation service to senior citizens and disabled residents who are not registered with ParaTransit, who are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. The transportation service is not limited to County-run vaccination sites only; any senior citizen or disabled person may use the service for any location, including appointments at local pharmacies.

If you would like to take advantage of the transportation service, call ParaTransit at (914) 995-7272 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. to make a reservation, 24 hours prior to your vaccination date.

Latimer said: “A disability should never prevent you from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine when it’s your turn. Please take advantage of this free transportation service offered by our ParaTransit office, and when you are eligible, get vaccinated to prevent the spread of COVID-19.”

Director of the Office for People with Disabilities Evan Latainer said: “All people deserve the opportunity to receive the COVID-19 vaccine and transportation should not be a reason for a person not to receive it. This is why County Executive George Latimer has directed us to offer ParaTransit as a way for our seniors and the disabled community who are not registered with ParaTransit, to utilize the service.”
