June 11, 2019 – Construction and rehabilitation are continuing at the Elijah Miller House in North Castle.  For years the County owned 18th-century Rhode Island-style farmhouse deteriorated for lack of commitment to restore this historic site. Over a year ago, the County promised to restore the house for historic education, and with the help of New York State Assemblyman David Buchwald, the County is significantly closer to opening the home for the public to enjoy.

The Elijah Miller House, though owned by farmers Ann and Elijah Miller, was used during the Revolutionary War by General George Washington as a headquarters during the Battle of White Plains.
