DEPARTMENT OF EMERGENCY SERVICES ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR PART-TIME EMERGENCY MEDICAL TECHNICIANS

(Valhalla, NY) - The Westchester County Department of Emergency Services is recruiting candidates for part-time Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to staff County parks, properties and special events as needed throughout the year.

Uniformed EMTs work under the general supervision of the WCDES EMS Division to provide quality, compassionate, non-transporting emergency medical services to residents and visitors of Westchester County. WCDES EMTs are paid $22 per hour and are required to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.

To qualify, applicants must have:

  • Valid New York State EMT Certification and CPR Card;
  • Valid driver’s license;
  • High school or equivalency diploma;
  • Six months experience in emergency patient care in a hospital or as a volunteer or paid emergency medical technician or paramedic. Experience must be verifiable and based on a 35-hour work week.

Qualified candidates should apply by February 16.

County EMS members are part of a well-organized, structured team, and receive competitive hourly rates, paid training and Continuing Medical Education. Uniforms and all equipment are supplied.
