If you have a complaint about your carting service, your carting contract, or anything else concerning the carting industry in Westchester County, including illegal dumping, use our online complaint form. All information provided on the form will be kept confidential.

These transfer stations and facilities will accept from individuals one of these materials or a combination thereof: municipal solid waste, construction and demolition debris, scrap metals, and recyclable glass, metals, paper, cardboard and plastics.

Phone ahead to verify prices, hours of operation and space availability. Verify also that the type of waste you have is accepted at the location. The chart below provides a general idea of accepted materials by location.

Applications for Commission Review of Proposed Sales and Purchases
 This is an application for permission to proceed with asset of business sale transactions, mergers, acquisitions, or other business restructuring or reorganization. The application must be completed by both the buyers and the seller. Only businesses that are already licensed to operate a waste or recyclables removal business in Westchester County may apply for review.

 
 Notice to customers that their carting seervice is being provided by a new company pursuant to a subcontracting agreement with the original carter.

 Notice to customers that their service contracts have been assigned to another carter.

 

The Solid Waste Commission:

  • Performs background checks on all applicants and principals seeking a license or registration so as to evaluate the good character, honesty and integrity of licensees and registrants in Westchester County.
  • Issues licenses and registrations for the performance of activities for which a license or registration is required by the Westchester County Solid Waste and Recyclables Collection Licensing Law (Chapter 826-a of the Laws of Westchester County).
  • Ensures that only licensed carters haul solid waste and recyclables within Westchester County, and that licensed carters use only trucks registered with the Solid Waste Commission.
  • Ensures that only entities licensed by the Solid Waste Commission dump solid waste and recyclables at transfer stations located in Westchester County.
  • Investigates all complaints against haulers that occur within Westchester County.
  • Encourages entry into the industry and encourages competition within the industry in Westchester County.
  • Informs the public of its rights under the Westchester County Solid Waste and Recyclables Collection Licensing Law.

Professionals can access electrician license forms, master plumber's test applications and taxi and limousine driver forms among others.

Home Improvement Contractor Applications
