Westchester County Human Rights Commission Statement On Unity In Westchester County

“On the eve of Yom Kippur, the Westchester County Human Rights Commission (HRC) affirms that Westchester is a place of acceptance and tolerance.  Westchester County residents pride themselves on the rich diversity of our County – and we at the HRC work to spread that message every day.   We wholeheartedly condemn and reject the recent rash of swastikas in schools, in both Pelham and Scarsdale, and we hope on Yom Kippur we as a County unite.  The Westchester County Human Rights Commission values dignity, safety and mutual respect of all people in our borders. We now share a responsibility to come together as a community and speak out against all forms of hatred, bigotry and intolerance in our community.”
