May 28, 2019 -- The Westchester County Office of Economic Development is urging businesses, organizations and municipalities to attend informational workshops being held in June to learn more about funding opportunities in the next round of the Mid-Hudson Consolidated Funding Application (CFA).
The first Westchester County workshop is being held Wednesday, June 5, from 9-11:30 a.m. at the Gateway Center, Westchester Community College, 75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla. The workshop will include an overview of the application and the CFA process followed by informational breakout sessions and Q&A on specific funding available by program. Staff from various NYS agencies will be on hand to answer any questions. Programs include:

The deadline for CFA applications is 4 pm on July 26.
“These informational workshops are a tremendous opportunity for local business owners to learn more about the CFA application process and the funding available to expand their businesses,” said Westchester County Executive George Latimer. “CFA funding plays an important role in promoting economic development in our County and the Hudson Valley region,” he added.
In 2018, the Mid-Hudson Regional Economic Development Council received $87.1 million in CFA grants for 122 projects in the Hudson Valley region. In Westchester County, 24 projects received a total of about $16 million in 2018, an increase over the $10.7 million awarded in 2017. In addition, Westchester also received $20 million in Excelsior Job Credits and $11 million in low cost economic development financing.
Businesses throughout the Hudson Valley received CFA funding last year for a wide range of projects. Here are some examples:

Regent Hospitality Linen, a women-owned business in Mount Vernon, received a $250,000 grant to upgrade its existing industrial laundry facility with the installation of a Co-Generation system.

Thompson’s Ciders received a $137,00 grant to convert a vacant building in Peekskill into a hard cider manufacturing facility, testing room and event space.

Bread Alone Bakery received an $800,000 grant to expand its Lake Katrine bakery in Ulster County to sell more organic bread to its growing customer base.

Caribbean Food Delights, a leading Caribbean frozen food manufacturer, received $2,250,000 in grants to expand its manufacturing facility in Rockland County to accommodate additional food lines.

Unlimited Tomorrow Inc, a startup medical device manufacturer of prosthetic limbs, received two grants totaling $900,000 to expand its manufacturing and R&D operations in Dutchess County.

City Winery received a $805,756 grant to acquire a historic site on the Wallkill River in Orange County to rehabilitate and reuse as a winery, café and event space. Improvements include the use of an existing hydroelectric turbine on the Wallkill River

Katz Gluten Free, a specialty bakery making gluten-free snacks and desserts, received $300,000 to upgrades its manufacturing facility in Orange County.
