Feb. 1, 2019 - “Today marks the beginning of a month-long celebration of African-American culture and contributions to the fabric of our nation. This month also serves as an extra reminder to reflect on the struggles of and challenges faced by African-Americans throughout our Nation’s storied past. Black history is American history – and it is important that we never forget that. Progress is only possible when we remember those who came before us.”
