January 10, 2019 -- Westchester County residents should be aware that the Tappan Zee Bridge demolition that was planned for this Saturday, January 12 has been postponed. According to Tappan Zee Constructors, the controlled demolition of the Tappan Zee Bridge’s east anchor span needed to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Due to high winds, demolition crews were unable to successfully prepare what remains of the old bridge for takedown. No new date has been set.
