WaveoflightcandleinofficeSMALLEROctober 15, 2018 – On the 15th day of the 10th month of each year, people around the world will light a candle in a “Wave of Light” as a part of Infant Loss Awareness Month. This year, County Executive George Latimer’s office has joined in that wave.

Each year, approximately 26,000 families in the United States face the horror of losing a child before birth. Whether as a result of miscarriage, stillbirth, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), accident or other complications – this devastating tragedy occurs without warning.

Latimer said: “We proudly light this candle in remembrance of the lives of children lost too soon and in support of grieving parents, grandparents, siblings and other family members throughout Westchester.”

The County Executive instructed staff to light the candle this evening in the main lobby area on the 9th Floor of the Westchester County-Michaelian Office Building in downtown White Plains.
