August 30, 2018 -- Westchester County Executive George Latimer announced fall service changes to the County’s Bee-Line Bus System effective Tuesday, September 4, 2018. Several enhancements will occur this fall including adding service to various routes where ridership is strong, and demand exists for more weekend trips.

Latimer said: “More than 100,000 riders depend on the Bee-Line every day to get them to work or school on time. These improvements are part of our continuous efforts to provide a safe and reliable bus system that meets the needs of our Westchester community.”

This fall the Bee-Line is adding service between Getty Square and the Bronx. Nearly 15% of Bee-Line passengers transfer to the New York City Subway, and a large number of these transfers are provided by routes that serve Getty Square in Yonkers, including the Routes 1, 2, 4 and 25. Based on ridership demand, the weekday 6:56 a.m. Route 2 southbound trip that ends at Getty Square will now be extended to the 242nd Street Subway, and operate on weekdays year-round, not just during the school year.  In addition, there will be three Saturday northbound Route 1 trips added to the Yonkers City Line at 8:35 p.m., 9:15 p.m. and 11:15 p.m.

To better serve passengers, the Bee-Line is also adding more service on the Route 20. There will be additional southbound trips on Saturday evenings starting at the Macy’s bus stop at 8:36 p.m., 9:06 p.m., 9:36 p.m. and 10:01 p.m.  This means that buses on Saturday evenings will now be departing every 15 minutes from the Cross County Shopping Center.

Bee-Line’s Route 43 express service between Mount Vernon and Valhalla is being revamped. Starting in September, all Route 43 buses will make stops along Bradhurst Avenue immediately after the Westchester Medical Center. This will provide more direct service for riders to the medical office building at 19 Bradhurst Avenue, along with Blythedale Children’s Hospital.  For a full list of fall service changes, please see below.
