County Executive Robert P. Astorino has announced that Westchester County will once again hold a “9/11: Serve + Remember” blood drive in partnership with the New York Blood Center and Volunteer New York! as part of the county’s September 11th observance. The drive – open to the public – will take place Friday, Sept; 11 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Westchester County Center, 198 Central Park Ave., White Plains.

Anyone between the ages of 16 and 76 and weighing at least 110 pounds is a potential donor. Individuals over the age of 76 must produce a doctor's note from shortly before the drive to be approved.

Donors are asked to register in advance by contacting Janet Lokay at or (914) 995-2127. Walk-ins will also be welcome until 3:45 p.m.
