Westchester 2025It is difficult to predict just what our world will look like 10 years into the future, but what about our county.

Westchester has seen some incredible planning projects over the past decade. From roads to bridges and parks, our county continues to develop to better suit the needs of its residents. What is in store for the future planning of our county? Welcome to Westchester 2025.

Westchester 2025 is an Internet- based program (www.westchestergov.com/2025) developed by the county's Planning Department and updated regularly.

It is a tool to give local governments, planners and residents a way to make sound decisions about local development. Launched in 2008, the Web site has hundreds of pages filled with previously unavailable planning documents and photographs, including many almost a century old.

"This tool has already shown its importance to many of our local governments that rely on it," said County Executive Robert P. Astorino. "It is a cost saving, shared service initiative that planners, local governments and residents can use to help us work together and speak with one regional vision."

Recently, the 2025 team assisted the Village of Rye Brook to get indepth information needed as it puts together a new comprehensive plan for the village.

2025 features various:

  • Maps, including zoning, land use and base maps
  • Photographs, including aerial photos of each downtown area
  • Census data , for every Westchester municipality
  • 3D models

The above are available for all of the county's 45 municipalities and 54 downtown areas. Each piece of information assists in tracking the development of each downtown district.
