June 29, 2012 -- Westchester County Executive Robert P. Astorino Friday released the following statement in response to disclosure that the new Tappan Zee Bridge will have a rush-hour bus lane:

"This is a step in the right direction and a hopeful development for those of us who have been strongly advocating for Bus Rapid Transit to be part of the bridge from the start as a means of limiting congestion and pollution. Still, as with the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS), facts about cost, financing and design of the bridge, more details are needed and I look forward to reviewing them."
