County Executive Robert P. Astorino and the Westchester County Veterans Service Agency were joined by family members of the servicemen at a Tree Dedication Ceremony for fallen servicemen. It  take place at the Memorial Tree Walkway, which is located next to The Rising, the county's memorial to those who died on 9/11.

The ceremony, taking place on the national observance of Gold Star Mothers Days, honored  Army Specialist David R. Fahey Jr. of Yorktown Heights who died Feb. 28, 2011; and Army Sergeant Edward J. Frank II of Yonkers, who died Aug. 11, 2011.

Family members unveiled bronze plaques inscribed with their loved one's name, rank and hometown in commemoration of their service and sacrifice. A chaplain from West Point paid  tribute to the late soldiers as well.

"These young men remain in the hearts of all of us," said Astorino. "The trees are a visible tribute to their bravery and to their sacrifice."

Fourteen other trees have previously been dedicated to the memory of soldiers who died in the line of duty in Operation Iraqi Freedom or Operation Enduring Freedom.
