Westchester County government has a new video feature on its Web site: County Conversations.

Looking for more than a sound bite or quick quote about an important county issue? Then County Conversations is for you.   

The first installment is an in-depth interview with County Executive Robert P. Astorino on the serious financial issues facing the county.

Despite mid-year initiatives that have saved $36 million, the county is still facing a projected budget deficit of $130 million in 2011. In County Conversations, Astorino details the facts behind the budget shortfall and his plans for  submitting a balanced budget in November without raising taxes.

In coming weeks, County Conversations will feature interviews with other leaders on  a wide variety of topics of interest to Westchester residents.
